In every organization you have people who understand the mission and people who don't. Further, of those who understand the mission, you have those who are in agreement with it (integrity) and those who are not (duplicity). We call this Vision/Mission Alignment. Over time, organizations typically go through a process of Vision/Mission development, communication and implementation. As an organization grows, the original purposes (vision/mission) may change or they may not. However, the understanding of that vision by the people can get somewhat cloudy. We call this organizational drift - which is a fairly normal occurrence.
What does this have to do with messagedrivendesign®? Quite a lot, in fact. Though we don't necessarily work with organizations to help them communicate their vision to their people, we do help them with their messaging and how to communicate that message through the design. This helps us create a design that communicates, supports, and promotes the organization's vision and message, and has the added benefit of moving them successfully from duplicity to integrity - at least within the design.
